Berthault describes his layer-making experiments in overview (9 k) and detail (11 k), and Brad Henke (17 k) explains why geologists already knew about this kind of layer-making, which does not explain the actual historical formation of varves because the experimental conditions and real-world conditions are different;  this is followed by responses from Berthault (10 k) and Henke (46 k).
